Last Friday 22nd June, a group students of IES Ntra. Sra. De la Estrella from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of ESO played a theatre called “Beauty” in English language in the Olimpia Theatre in Villa del Río. The theatre was organised by the members of the English department from the highschool. All the students from this secondary school could enjoy and watched the play the last day of the course.
It was a very interesting experience for those students who participated in the theatre since they could learn more English through a motivational and interesting way.
The plot of the play was based on human values such us respect, gender equality, friendship and also other problems that nowadays teenagers have in the society such us anorexia, attention to physical beauty instead of internal beauty.
The public could take part in the play because the play was based on a television programme where characters from different tales (wolf, red ridinghood, snow white, witches, captain hook, Wendy and tinkerbell…etc) appeared in the tv programme searching a beauty recipe. Finally Sherlock Holmes found it and the brave red riding hood caught it and all the characters drank the beauty essence. At the end all the characters discovered that the beauty recipe consisted of internal beauty and they felt friendship deeply.
It was a comedy and a funny version of the tales and as a presenter of the show students and the rest of the students in the school could see William Shakespeare speaking in German language and explaining the story in Spanish to the public.
